The basic classifications of animals in Farmville are Livestock and Lost Animals. You can buy Livestock at the Market for coins orFarmville cash while Lost Animals will show up on your farm from time to time .   Animal crops don’t rot like plant crops which is just one advantage of animals .   You can be logged off as long as you like and when you come back, the animals will be waiting to be harvested .   Animals are unproblematic and simple to handle .  It is a good method of getting money while enjoying some variety on your farm.

Livestock

The livestock you can currently obtain at the Market are rather limited .   The livestock which you can get at the Market are dairy cows, white (regular) sheep and pigs .   On special events and holidays, new animals will come out for a certain time . During the “Alien Invasion”, green cows named BOV1NE-09 ( now called Alien Cow) appeared in the Market for 2400 coins .   Green cows provide a crop named “milktonium” which sells for 18 coins . The “Baby Turkey” was launched during the American Thanksgiving. It changes into a full-grown Turkey when harvested for the first time .   The grown-up Turkey produces feathers which can be harvested every 2 days can be sold at 80 coins per harvest .   You can get more interesting livestock as free gifts from your friends, although the old standbys are available there too .

You can see that the animals do not have the same harvest times .   A number of animals may be harvested once a day, others need 3 or even 4 days to “ripen” .

Lost Animals

Farmville has an interesting feature which requires you to keep an eye on Facebook status updates to find out if your friends have stumbled upon any “lost animals” .   the lost animals will occasionally appear on your farm and request your help .   An example would be the Wild Turkey, which was released as a new “lost animal” by the makers of Farmville during the American Thanksgiving holiday .

The following caption will be shown upon the appearance of the Wild Turkey on your farm :

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

The other “lost animals” in Farmville are :

*Ugly Duckling ( becomes a swan )

*Brown Cow ( produces chocolate milk )

*Pink Cow ( gives strawberry milk )

*Black Cat ( makes yarn )

*Turtle ( gives eggs )

*Black Sheep ( produces chocolate wool )

* Regular cows also wander but they are obtainable through the Market and free items

With lost animals, you cannot adopt the animal yourself .   What you can do is put them up for adoption .   If you have more than one Facebook account, this is the ideal time to use it !

Log out from your account and subsequently place your lost animal up for adoption .   Log in on your other account and quickly get the animal before someone else does !   So remember what I said before, constantly look at your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animals .

If you’re obtaining plenty of cows and/or chickens, consider purchasing a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop .

Each building stores 20 cows or chickens and offers a suitable way to store them, and harvesting them all at once .
